Physical cards have to be activated before you can use them.
When creating a new physical card (for a user, or for yourself) you'll receive automatically an email to set up your personal PIN code. This action will confirm the physical card order and it will be shipped to you by our team.
☝️ Good to know: Make sure you remember your PIN code well because you will need it for your in-store payments and your withdrawals.
I've just received my card, what do I do now?
Once you've received your physical card, all you have to do is:
- Go to the Cards section on the left of your Qonto app
Note: If you have multiple current accounts, click on All accounts, and select one. Only the cards attached to this account will be displayed. Or to be even more efficient, click on the little icon See cards available in each card of the Accounts section.
- Select your new card and click on Activate card in the tab on the right
- Then enter the ID number written on the back of your card, just below the signature zone
- To finalize the card activation, withdraw money from an ATM, thanks to the PIN code you set up before

Once activated, you’ll be able to process payments, either online or in physical shops, depending on permissions set up by your account admin.
Note: Virtual cards do not need to be activated and can be used immediately.
